Some Favorite Beads

This is one of my sister's favourites, with a turquoise background and encased orange-red flowers. Must make more of these!

This bead has some amazing color reactions --and the best part is that its made with only two colours and some silver leaf. It looks like some kind of exotic microorganism found in hot springs...

I love how this bead feels. The surface is etched to give a matte finish, and the colours (light blue, silvered ivory and grey) remind of a stormy beach on a rainy day.

Islands Necklace

Two in One! This necklace is actually two braclets connected by toggle clasps. The lampwork beads were made by layering transparent blues and greens over a silver leaf covered opaque core. Textural dots were added to the focal bead. The clusters of small glass beads give this necklace a "garden paradise" feel. One of my favorite pieces.
