Stitch Markers

Lots of glass beadmaking last week, finally!

I have been busy making these stitch markers to sell at my favourite yarn shop. These are just fabulous; little jewels to adorn your knitting projects.



I've even set up an account for an etsy store--but have yet to stock it with jewelry, hopefully I will have some pieces finished by the end of the week.

Its been so long!

I have been stuck in knitting land for the past while, making a sweater with my gorgeous fleece artist wool (I am in love with the colours...). Too tired most nights to make the trek down to the glass cave and make beads. However, I am taking requests for Christmas gifts!
Below is a link ( I hope) to a slideshow with more examples of jewelry. I have a general price list, it all depends on the time it takes to make the beads/jewelry.

Cascade Necklace

Another style of disc necklace, the beads form a "cascade". A pretty mix of green and topaz, with a little bit of glitter from the aventurine.

July necklaces

Two matching necklaces for some of my friends. The first is a set of three etched steel blue beads with fine silver dots.















For the second necklace I used alabastro pink and silver wire.

Winged Hearts for Mothers Day

These beads have a pink filigrana core and pink alabastro glass wings, very dainty looking. I will have to make some more since I didn't keep one for myself!

Two more "works in progress" :) The colours in the handmade glass beads are so beautiful in person. The purple and pinks remind me of roses and lavender..

Multi-strand necklace

Multi-strand necklace made of silk thread and various glass beads (but none of them were handmade by me). Silk thread is very nice but boy is it slippery! lots of beads and little knots in this necklace.

Glass Drawer Pulls!

These turned out way better than I thought they would. I love the black knob, the swirls of ivory, teal and purple look pretty cool. The ivory and silver knob didn't quite turn out the way I imagined, but it looks great on the bathroom cupboard.

A late Valentine..

Better late than never...
It takes me a little while to make the beads, then they sit around waiting to be made up into jewelry. This arrangement is temporary; I'm entering this into a valentine themed jewelry challenge (I won the January one!). I have another idea for these beads, just need the time to make it happen...

Sophisticat

Just showing off my new knitting bag. I love this fabric, its nice and bright and has lots of cool black cats all over it. And for once the lining actually matches!

Turkish Delight Bracelet

Gorgeous etched pink and purple beads with dots of silver, dangles of pink alabastro leaves and purple crystals. Silver filigree beads and jump rings complete the look. I really love the colour combination of rose pink and purple in this bracelet (the centre bead was made from a tutorial by Naos glass beads)

Nebula Necklace

Beads from space! ultra cool black beads with swirly nebulas of silvered ivory, and dots of silver wire. All strung up with obsidian chips and czech glass crystals.

Opal Pendant

I wanted to make glass bead that looked like an opal, and I'm pretty happy with this one. Its made with blue alabastro and sparkly dichroic glass, then encased in clear for depth. I then made a wire wrap around the bead, then added czech glass dangles for extra sparkle.

Low Fat Cupcake

Who dosn't like cupcakes? Especially when you can wear a deliciously coloured one around your neck. More of these to come..
